Stanley Flexi Seal - Hybrid Polymer Joint Sealant - RV Roof Sealant - White, 9.8 fl oz
Stanley Flexi Seal - Hybrid Polymer Joint Sealant is an elastic, single-component AST-based joint sealer. This low modulus flexi sealant is suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications, offering exceptional elastic properties. Designed for high-performance bonding and sealing, it provides excellent adhesion, flexibility, and durability in various conditions. The polymer bonding feature makes this product versatile and especially ideal for use as a rv sealant roof. The sealant is very low in VOC content, meets the requirements of VOC content specifications in LEED credit EQc4.1, and is classified as a low-emitting product according to SCAQMD rule 1168.
Features & Benefits:
- Low Modulus: Can withstand extreme joint movement.
- Solvent-Free: Does not contain solvent, silicone, or isocyanate.
- No Bubble Formation: Performs well even in wet and humid conditions.
- UV Resistant: Very good UV resistance.
- Excellent Elasticity: Provides very good adhesion strength.
- Over-Paintable: Can be over-painted with water-based paints.
- No Shrinkage: Maintains its volume after curing.
- Primerless Adhesion: Adheres to many different substrates without primer (preliminary test recommended).
Application Areas:
- RV Roofs: Perfect as an RV roof sealant.
- Expansion and Connection Joints: Ideal for the building industry.
- Prefabricated Buildings: Suitable for sealing joints.
- Movement Joints: Effective in high-rise constructions.
- Window and Door Frames: Perfect for sealing around window and door frames.
- Roofing: Works well as both a roofing sealant and roofing caulk.
- Gutters: Effective as a gutter caulk.
- Concrete Joints: Suitable as a concrete joint filler.
How to Use:
- Safety Precautions: Ensure good ventilation at the work station. Wear personal protective equipment. Do not eat, drink, or smoke when using this product. Always wash hands after handling.
- Surface Preparation: Ensure substrates are clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, rust, and contaminants. Clean non-porous surfaces (like aluminum and glass) with solvent and dry thoroughly. Mechanically clean porous substrates (like concrete and brickwork) with compressed air, sandpaper, or a hard brush. Mask off joint edges with self-adhesive tape for protection.
- Application: Use polyethylene bond breaker tape or backer rod to adjust joint depth and avoid three-sided adhesion. Cut the nozzle to the desired bead size. Apply the sealant as evenly as possible using a professional caulking gun. Tool the joint surface with a smoothing tool to ensure full contact with the sides and backup material before skin formation.
- Finishing: Remove masking tapes immediately after smoothing the sealant. Allow the sealant to cure fully.
- Cleaning: Uncured product can be easily removed with a damp sponge. Cured product must be removed mechanically.
