Think of Stanley’s Multi-Bond Adhesive as the brand’s answer to Gorilla Glue—strong, reliable, but with a bit of a slow-and-steady vibe. It definitely sticks like nobody’s business, but don’t expect things to bond instantly. The curing time feels like it’s taking its sweet time, which is fine if patience is your thing. But let’s be honest, it can be a bit messy. One wrong move, and you’ll end up with more glue on your hands than the project. That said, once it’s set, it holds like a champ. Messy? Sure. Effective? Absolutely.

This multi bond polyurethane adhesive by Stanley is essentially their version of the same glue type branded by Gorilla. The adhesive is unique in that it reacts with moisture in the air which causes it to expand slightly while gradually solidifying to create a strong bond. The bonding can be enhanced by damping one surface while applying a thin layer of the glue to the other prior to assembly. It does create pressure while curing so it's important to keep the parts clamped until the reaction is complete, which typically takes several minutes under normal temperatures. This glue is a little lighter in color than the Gorilla brand but as far as I can tell they exhibit similar bonding strengths. Due to the expanding nature of this glue, there is typically excess glue that will foam out from the edges, but it's easily trimmed away with a sharp blade once it has dried. The expanding nature of this glue does make it more suited to bonding rough or porous surfaces like wood but it does also stick quite well to metals and certain plastics. Preparation is always the key to getting the best bond so it's important to follow the product instructions. The glue should have a reasonable shelf life but with the other brand, I found that expelling as much air from the bottle before closing it can increase its longevity substantially. Unless its close to empty, a spring clamp works quite well with this bottle to keep the air from sucking back in until it has self-plugged the opening. Overall, this glue has some great applications but the current cost of this 2.36 fl.oz bottle makes it pricier than the main competitor. For this I'll give it 4 stars.

I expected this to be a big bottle of cyanoacrylate (you know, krazy glue). I have a home in another country and I buy cyano glue in a similar size there. You don't seem to find large containers of that stuff in the US. First off, I tried to read the instructions - they are written in the smallest type that I have ever seen. As my reading glases weren't handy, I set straight to work gluing a small piece of broken trim together - just to see how this stuff works. The glue came out kinda thick. That cyano stuff is generally thin, and runs all over your fingers, gluing them together instantly, along with anything else that might be in your hands. This stuff stayed where I put it and didn't have that cyano smell. Hmmm. Gotta do some checking... So, I went to find the readers. I saw on the bar-coded sticker on the back that indicated that it was a polyurethane glue. Cool. My gorilla stuff hardened up and got tossed recently. I know how to work with this. Instead of an instant cyano set, this glue takes some time, so I went to the garage and found a spare piece of wood and a c-clamp to hold the piece together while it dries. I let it stay that way overnight. Looks good now. My only complaint about this glue are the instructions. There are instructions in three languages on the back of the package and the print is necessarily super tiny. They're comprehensive enough that if you read them, you probably wouldn't have a problem. However, if somewhere in the instructions they had let us know that we were working with a polyurethane-based glue, I wouldn't have needed to read so much tiny stuff. Then again, if I had read the Amazon description thoroughly, I would have known that, too. Anyway, this is some fine glue. .

I ordered this glue in the last ditch effort to repair our toaster, which was cheap quality. The button that brings the toast down, had snapped off. we were not confident that we would be able to repair this unit but it also seemed senseless to throw it away. I saw this product and figured it was worth a try even though its price point was similar to half of a new toaster. to our delight and amazement this product worked like a charm. We hope to be able to make more repairs with it before it degrades to the point where it’s no longer Useful. Great product.

This glue is great. It works for anything I've needed so far. Keep in mind this is a thicker, slower setting glue, so give it time to work and your are going to be great.

I only used this once so far on a ceramic cat food bowl I broke. It worked really well. Seems very sturdy and the label says it works on a lot of different materials. It’s not too thick. I’m pleased with it.

I am very impressed with the versatility and performance that this glue offers. As a PU glue, it does take some time to set and expands slightly on curing, but not as much as other brands. I also like that it is not some dingy tint of brown or beige like many other glues in this category. I've only used it on a few different projects but it has performed admirably in every case and so far I have yet to find a material that it doesn't hold fast to. The instructional text on the back of the packaging is easy to follow and offers advice on use and cleanup. That said, the text is nearly microscopic so anyone who is the least bit farsighted should get the ol' readers handy. It's fairly pricey for an adhesive, but considering how well it works and how long it'll last (you don't need much!) I will always have a bottle ready to go!

This is not like CA glue at all. This has a much slower dry time and is a tad thicker than generic liquid CA. It works well, but I don't agree it is fast curing. You will have to hold things in position for at least 20-30mins in my experience and then let it cure for a few hours. not a bad product. still trying to find where it's a strong option

I figured out what this is the first time I tested it because I previously reviewed another "polyurethane" glue, but they were more descriptive by calling it "marine glue." The main thing you need to know is that it expands, like a mildly expanding foam gap filler. I read their product page and the package instructions and even though they mention it, I don't think they make it clear this stuff will expand. They also say for "best results" to clamp it, but if you don't clamp it and you put maybe too much on it (hard to say what the best amount may be), it will literally push the pieces apart. In other words, you absolutely have to clamp or somehow press together the two pieces very tightly. I tried it on 2 pieces of wood and clamped it in a vise. Later the bond was very secure and I didn't see any seepage. However, I tried gluing 2 pieces of concrete blocks together, and didn't clamp, and later I found the 2 pieces separated by the expanded glue and not securely bonded at all. The glue also was not fully dry, and this after 2 hours. That being said, it has its uses. I think it qualifies as "marine" glue because the expanding action pushes all air and moisture out for a complete vacuum. Because of the expanding action it does make it ideal to attach uneven or unsmooth surfaces.. I have even used my other polyurethane glue as a gap filler, but this glue may not expand as much. So, as long as you know these properties, buy it if you have a use for it.
