Stanley Express Polyurethane Wood Marine Adhesive is a high-performance, one-component, fast-curing liquid polyurethane adhesive. This adhesive is designed to provide extremely high bond strength and water resistance, making it ideal for both marine and woodworking applications. Its versatility and ease of use make it perfect for both professional and DIY projects. This polyurethane wood glue cures quickly and forms a durable bond on numerous substrates including wood, metal, concrete, and polystyrene foam. It is also an excellent marine glue and boat glue due to its high resistance to moisture and weather conditions.

Features & Benefits:

  • Fast Curing: This fast drying wood glue cures quickly, reducing project completion time.
  • Low Press Time: Requires minimal press time for effective bonding.
  • Transparent: Dries clear for a clean, professional finish.
  • High Bond Strength: Provides extremely high bond strength on various substrates.
  • D4 Water Resistance: Conforms to D4 according to DIN EN 204 for high water resistance.
  • Easy to Use: Simple application process with a brush.
  • Chemical Resistance: Offers very good resistance to chemicals.
  • Weather Resistant: Excellent resistance to moisture and weather conditions.
  • Nonshrinking: Does not shrink after curing.
  • Low Odor: Low odor formulation for a more pleasant working environment.
  • Useable on Wet Substrates: Can be used on slightly wet substrates.

Application Areas:

  • Wood to Various Substrates: Ideal for bonding wooden elements to various porous and non-porous substrates such as metal, concrete, and polystyrene foam.
  • Furniture and Boat Production: Perfect for use in furniture and boat production due to its high bond strength and water resistance, making it an excellent marine adhesive glue.
  • Raised Flooring: Suitable for fixing raised flooring in combination with mechanical fixtures, acting as a reliable wood floor glue.
  • High Water Resistance Applications: All bonding applications that need high water resistance and fire retardant properties, including outdoor uses where a durable outdoor glue is necessary.

How to Use:

  • Safety Precautions: Ensure good ventilation at the work station. Wear personal protective equipment. Do not eat, drink, or smoke when using this product. Always wash hands after handling.
  • Surface Preparation: Ensure surfaces to be bonded are clean, dry, and free from dust and grease. One of the substrates should be porous to ensure better curing. Slightly moisten the substrates to enhance adhesion.
  • Application: Apply the adhesive with a brush as a thin film to one or both surfaces and join the parts within 2 minutes. Press the elements together for at least 15-20 minutes to ensure proper bonding.
  • Finishing: Once the adhesive has cured, it forms a clear, durable bond. Ensure the bond is protected from excessive moisture and harsh environmental conditions.
  • Cleaning: Uncured adhesive can be cleaned with acetone. Cured adhesive must be removed mechanically.

The Stanley Express PU Wood Marine Adhesive stands out as a robust and efficient solution for bonding wood in marine environments. This adhesive excels in environments where water exposure is prevalent. It maintains a strong bond even under wet conditions, making it ideal for marine applications. The product cures quickly, which significantly reduces the waiting time and allows for faster project completion. This is especially beneficial in time-sensitive repairs or constructions. The adhesive expands minimally upon curing, ensuring a tight and secure bond without causing misalignment or structural issues. It's suitable for various surfaces, including slightly humid ones, which adds to its usability in different environmental conditions. The adhesive is resistant to mold and many chemicals, contributing to the longevity and durability of the bonded materials. It performs well across a range of temperatures, from freezing conditions (above 5°C) to more temperate climates, ensuring reliability year-round. I would recommend this product to others.

This is the glue you need if you want to use it outdoor or in a marine environment. The glue is waterproof once it fully cures. Trust the brand name from Stanley and buy with confidence!

The Stanley Express PU Wood Marine Adhesive (ASIN: B0CR4BMSVP), as listed on the bottle but NOT in the product description, has a very short working time. One must spread the adhesive (do wear gloves), position the parts, and apply the clamps in 3 minutes. So, I do not foresee using this for very involved projects, but for more minimally involved simple tasks. If you do get the clamps in place quick enough and tight enough, the adhesive is very strong once cured (15 to 30 minutes). The dried adhesive appears to be water repellant. The dispenser on the bottle received is different than the one pictured in the product description and featured in the video. I find the cap attachment kind of annoying and often in my way. That could be improved. I did not find all the information I needed in the instructions attached to the bottle, but some on-line videos by people other than Stanley representatives filled in the gaps. The instructions are terribly small print on the bottle.

I like marine glues, this stuff does not come apart. I have a repair to do on my boat and I need to beef up a Bimini mount that was never installed properly. I need to add wood inside under the rail and it has to be strong. This glue will do what I need. No mixing or measuring like epoxies. The key to this glue is making sure the fit is perfect and the surfaces prepared properly. Then glue and clamp in place until dry. Dries fairly quickly. This will make a perfect joint that wont be affected by water or salt.

Used this to attach fence posts that were holding up the irrigation sprinkler heads. Worked well. Dried quickly. Instructions are crazy tiny, so you will need to look online if your reading glasses aren't strong enough to see the instructions on the bottle (though if you have young eyes, maybe not a problem for you). You do need to work quickly, as it does dry fast.

Stanley's Marine-Grade Polyurethane Wood Glue offers superior water resistance and high-strength adhesion, similar to the well-known Gorilla glue. However, there are some notable differences. While Gorilla glue typically foams to brown when excess is present, Stanley's glue foams to white. One downside is the bottle's design, which doesn't match the product page. The nozzle's cap and the plastic "leash" that binds it to the cap and prevents it from getting lost aren't optimal, as attempts to separate the leash from the nozzle base ended up with the leash getting severed. A much smarter design is needed, and I'm surprised that Stanley hasn't addressed this issue. In terms of gluing quality, the adhesive appears strong, but the inconvenience caused by the nozzle design may outweigh its benefits for some users.

This glue is a great option when you are working with items that will be damp or wet. It's adhesion is good but might not be as strong as a good wood glue. If I am in need of a wood glue in a non-wet environment, I would select a good wood glue over this. It is annoying that they give you a different dispenser top than what is shown in the pictures as I would have preferred the other style shown.

While regular wood glue usually gets the job done, this marine-grade polyurethane wood glue is in a league of its own. Designed for marine use, it offers exceptional performance in tough environments. Unlike traditional wood glue, it expands slightly like construction foam, ensuring a strong bond. While the bonds are not pretty enough for high-end woodworking, it's perfect for applications requiring extra durability. Definitely worth considering. Five stars from me.
