Kraken Bond FastCoat Spray Foam Insulation, Closed Cell
Kraken Bond FastCoat Spray Foam Insulation (closed-cell) provides high-quality heat and sound insulation for various applications. This polyurethane prepolymer-based closed cell spray foam insulation offers outstanding adhesion, creating a seamless, monolithic thermal barrier without junctures, seams, or gaps. Ideal for uneven, hard-to-reach surfaces, it serves as an innovative alternative to traditional insulation methods such as polystyrene boards, glass wool, and rock wool. Its eco-friendly properties make it a top choice for both residential and commercial use.
Features & Benefits
- Closed Cell Hybrid Formula: This unique formula is designed for both professional and DIY use, offering a high R-value of 5.66 per inch and a thermal conductivity of 0.025 W/(m.K), ensuring top-notch insulation performance and ease of application.
- Superior Adhesion: Ensures robust adherence to most building materials, making it ideal for a variety of surfaces.
- Versatile Application: Perfect for uneven and hard-to-reach surfaces, providing effective insulation in attics, crawl spaces, and more.
- High R-Value Performance: With an R-Value of 5.66 per inch and thermal conductivity of 0.025 W/(m.K), it significantly enhances energy efficiency.
- Seamless Insulation: Prevents thermal bridges and dew point formation, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
- High Yield: Provides up to 20 board feet with a 1-inch thickness when applied from a distance of ~16 inches with normal application speed.
- Eco-Friendly: Contains no harmful propellants, supporting green building practices.
- Water and Air Barrier: Dense structure stops water, air, and pests from penetrating, acting as an effective waterproof and pest-resistant barrier.
- Paintable Surface: Can be painted to match your design aesthetics once cured.
Application Areas
- Building Insulation: Suitable for structural elements, attics, crawl spaces, interior walls, balconies, doors, window slopes, and uneven surfaces.
- Vehicle Insulation: Ideal for car bodies, trailers, boats, yachts, and all kinds of sea vehicles.
- General Construction: Perfect for roofs, facades, foundations, basements, floors, inter-floor overlaps, partitions, ceilings, and cellars.
How to Use
- Safety Precautions: Contains Diphenylmethane-4,4'-Diisocyanate. Avoid inhaling spray/vapor. Use gloves and protective clothing in a well-ventilated area.
- Surface Preparation: Clean surfaces of dust, grease, and contaminants. Lightly moisten surfaces to improve foam expansion and adhesion.
- Application: Shake well before use and intermittently during application. Attach the appropriate nozzle (Nozzle A for vertical, Nozzle B for ceiling applications). Hold the can upside down, and apply the foam in layers, starting from the bottom of vertical gaps and working your way up.
- Application Tip: Make sure the spray gun and the adapter are fully seated. Otherwise, only gas can come out first and the foam cannot come out when there is no gas inside.
- Cleaning: For uncured foam, use Kraken Foam Cleaner. Mechanical removal is required once cured.
- Finishing: Once cured, it can be painted or plastered to protect against UV.
