Stanley Big Gap Filler Polyurethane Straw Foam Sealant, 24oz
Stanley Big Gap Filler Polyurethane Foam Sealant is a self-expanding aerosol gap filler foam designed for convenient application. This waterproof gap filler is a single-component foam that cures with moisture and does not contain harmful propellant gases that can harm the ozone layer. Each can comes with a straw adapter for easy dispensing. It offers excellent adhesion, filling capacity, and high thermal and acoustical insulation, making it an ideal choice for sealing and insulating large gaps and cracks.
Features & Benefits:
- Excellent Adhesion: Adheres well to most building materials except polyethylene, Teflon, silicone, and those contaminated with oils, greases, mold release agents, or similar substances.
- High Filling Capacity: Efficiently fills and seals large gaps, joints, and cavities.
- Thermal and Acoustical Insulation: Provides high thermal and sound insulation.
- Water and Mold Resistant: Resistant to mold and water, ensuring mold proof insulation.
- Paintable: Can be painted over for a clean and finished look.
Application Areas:
- Door and Window Frames: Used for fixing and insulating door and window frames, acting as a reliable door window foam.
- Gaps, Joints, and Cavities: Ideal for filling and sealing gaps, joints, and cavities, including large drywall gaps.
- Wall Penetrations: Suitable for filling penetrations in walls.
- Electrical Outlets and Water Pipes: Used for insulating electrical outlets and water pipes.
- Concrete Joints: Acts as an effective concrete joint filler.
How to Use:
- Safety Precautions: Contains Diphenylmethane-4,4'-Diisocyanate. Avoid breathing the spray/vapor. Use gloves and protective clothing in a well-ventilated area.
- Surface Preparation: Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from contaminants. If above 32°F, lightly dampen with water for better adhesion.
- Product Preparation: If the can is too cold or hot, bring it to room temperature, shake well. The optimal can temperature is 68°F.
- Application: Shake the can well before use. Apply foam in layers, allowing each to expand and cure. Fill vertical gaps with foam starting at the bottom and moving up. Do not fill the entire gap, as the foam will expand.
- Finishing: Immediately after the foam has fully hardened, protect it from UV rays by using plaster or paint. To avoid foam drying in the applicator, use the entire can without stopping for more than 5 minutes between sprays.
- Cleaning: Use Foam Cleaner to clean fresh foam. Cured foam can only be cleaned mechanically.
